Research Paper

Reflection

When it came to choosing a topic for this paper I was considering breaking away from my past topics of healthy diets.  I was looking at topics in the area of economics or philosophy.  Food deserts actually covered all three areas of my interest: economics, healthy foods, and philosophy.  I did not know anything about food deserts before I started my research paper, so all of the information that I researched was completely new to me.  My goal for this research paper was to learn as much about the topic as I could and compile it into a comprehensive paper that briefly inform the audience of the problems, causes, and solutions for food deserts.  The fact that I found most interesting was that people who live in food deserts are just as likely to purchase healthy foods as people who live in food oases.  I do not like writing research papers, however, being able to choose my topic made writing this paper more interesting.  The hardest part of writing this paper was just finding the time to sit down and work on it.  The end of the semester was a very busy time for me, and this assignment required a lot of time.  I am very pleased with the amount of information that I was able to obtain and I learned a lot about food deserts.
